Where Should You Change Difficulty in Remnant 2?
Remnant 2 has made a name for itself in the Soulslike genre, and without a doubt, it is a challenging game that will put both veterans and newcomers to the test, even if they have the Best Weapons at their disposal. If you’re new to the genre, the first few hours of the game may be dominated by a boss or overrun by a swarm of robots.
This will force the player to switch to an easier difficulty setting to smooth out the early stages of the game. This guide, like our Yaesha Secrets guide, will explain in detail how to change Difficulty Remnant 2.
Remnant 2 Difficulty Levels
Remnant 2 supports four different difficulty levels, including Survivor, Veteran, Nightmare, and Apocalypse, with Survivor being the easiest and Apocalypse being the most difficult. Here’s a breakdown of various difficulty levels.
1. Survivor
The Survivor difficulty level in Remnant 2 is the easiest of all difficulty levels. It is an excellent option for newcomers to familiarize themselves with the game environment. Having said that, it can still be difficult at times, particularly if you’re relatively new to the world of Remnant.
2. Veteran
The Veteran difficulty level will allow you to hone your skills and is an excellent choice if you want a well-rounded experience. If you’ve played Remnant: From the Ashes, the Veteran difficulty is a good option, provided that you are not terrified of a good fight.
3. Nightmare
The Nightmare difficulty is designed specifically for highly skilled players. It is an ideal choice if you are a fan of the Soulslike genre and also have that skill set. This difficulty level will provide an absolutely brutal experience that will truly put your skills to the test and push your abilities to new horizons.
4. Apocalypse
The Apocalypse difficulty level is best suited for no-hit-run players. This is not something you should do if you have a yellow belly. This difficulty will keep you on the edge, bashing your head against the wall until you either make or break it. It is particularly designed for the endgame, which is only accessible after completing the campaign once.
How To Change Difficulty Remnant 2
The best part about Remnant 2 is that you will have the option to switch difficulties if you find the game to be either too easy or too difficult to play at any difficulty level. This is a straightforward procedure that does not necessitate leaving your current session or creating an entirely new character.
The option to change difficulty in Remnant 2 is available in the Ward 13 area. You can change the difficulty by interacting with the World Stone in Ward 13. Since this can only be done from the World Stone in Ward 13, you must travel to Ward 13 to change the difficulty settings.
Simply follow these steps to change the difficulty in Remnant 2
- Interact with the World Stone to pop up the World Map menu.
- In the rotating world map menu, you will find a section called World Settings down at the bottom.
- Click it, and you will see the Current Mode option.
- Next up, to change the difficulty setting, select the Re-roll Campaign option.
- This will prompt you to select the new difficulty for your Campaign.
- Select the difficulty you want and hit enter. The difficulty setting will be applied after asking for confirmation.
Remnant 2 Reroll Campaign Explained
The Reroll Campaign option will change the difficulty settings; however, there is more to the option. Read on to learn all about it.
1. Progress Is Wiped
The most important thing to remember about rerolling a campaign is that any progress made in the prior campaign will be wiped off, and you will have to start over from scratch.
This will also rest the Main Story, and you will get a clean slate no matter how many worlds you have conquered; it will all be gone. Therefore, you should give it a thought before going for the Reroll Campaign option.
2. Re-Rolls A New Campaign
Since Remnant 2 incorporates procedurally changing worlds, each player gets a unique gaming environment that will differ from those of other players. This also applies to the Rerolling Campaign.
This feature will provide you with a New Campaign totally different from the one you experienced beforehand. The general layout of the in-game world, along with the quests and the dungeons, will differ between campaigns.
3. Retains The Characters Build
The best part about the Re-roll Campaign in Remnant 2 is that while all the progress is wiped out, you will still be able to keep your Character Build along with all the weapons and loot you acquired on your previous journey.
This option will come in handy for players who have progressed quite a long and done all the hard work and drilling. Since you will retain the boss weapons after re-rolling, the boss battle will be significantly less challenging in the second round.
Moreover, this is a significant benefit for players who found the game too challenging to play, even on the Survivor difficulty. Since re-rolling will allow them to keep the weapons and loot, they will have a distinct advantage on the second run.
This will particularly help the newer players to understand the game mechanics better and will increase their odds of survival.
